Frequently Asked Questions

What is Renee’s approach to a photo session?

A patient, playful, lighthearted approach to each session is given. Our goal is to provide the most relaxed, comfortable fun experience possible. On our end, Renee will likely provide the laughs, acrobatics, music (per her singing) or just telling a fabulous tall story, all in an effort to make your child feel as comfortable as possible.

What happens after the session?

We collect all photos shot (there are many) and narrow down to the best of the best. With that said, we let a few extras sneak in that are fun and maybe not the best moment's but worth seeing and maybe having. These final photos are fine tuned and available to view in a private online gallery. This gallery is accessible only with a provided password. And of course you have full permission to share with whomever you like. Orders can be placed directly through the gallery or just reach out to us and we can help you out. The turnaround time to see your pics, is usually about two weeks. Though we sometimes deliver sooner, but never later.

How do you work with kids that are a little shy or just super independent?

With children, it's super important to pick up on what they need right off the bat. As far as a child that is little reticent at first, they may need some time to just observe and take it all in. In this case, Renee is careful to wait until she feels your child feels a level of comfort before engaging as if they've known each other forever. In these cases, sometimes more converstaion with the parents or walking around the studio slowly showing them around makes them feel more at ease. Always though, she's able to find that special connection.

On the flip side, with kids that are super independent (and able to walk) this too requires some quick creativity to perhaps keep your child still (interested and engaged) for a few moments at a time. With this in mind, often you'll find Renee engaging in a lot of acrobatics, that always seem to work with kids on the run.

I have so many more questions to ask!

Not to worry, before each session we schedule a quick phone call to talk through any and all details about your shoot.

Also, coming soon, we'll have some additional resources on other super common questions:

1. What to wear?

2. What to expect at all ages: newborn, 3 months, 6 months, 11 months, 17 months, 2 years, etc. Yep, all of that is definitely a thing. We've learned over the last 10 years a few tried and true things to sort of expect at every age.

3. Should we reschedule if...?

And more to come. For now though, we'll answer all of these q's over the phone or email.
